Soaking Up the Summer Fun

There is not much better than a BBQ and pool time when it comes to Summer. In my home neighborhood there is a standing tradition for this once a year where they rent out a pavilion and the pool. It is a true kick off to summer for us. Everyone brings foods, sits around and talks, then has a diving board contest. Its the best. Blake seems to agree. He had so much fun chasing around his little Nemo Fish in the kiddie pool. Nana nailed it with that purchase. He didn't really need much else, but Tio convinced him to try the slide. He liked it, but once he was finally through the line and at the bottom, he was chilled. So we tried to swim a little more, as determined mommies do, trying to soak up the last few rays of sunshine. K.B. wasn't having it. So instead we pulled him out and wrapped him in a towel. Then it was off to the Sno Shack for a Silver Fox. Yum! No better way to end this kick off to summer than with my favorite kind of shaved ice.
