Swim Like a Fish

Oh boy, oh boy! Our first trip to the pool happened last week and little man here had quite a splashing good time. At first he was nervous, like any little one being introduced to the hustle and bustle of pooling would be. He was very stone faced when we put him into the very big bath. He wasn't sure. The water was not bath water warm, he had on too many clothes, the shoes kept making his feet float, and the noise was, well, noisy. He squinted and laid back in his floaty not sure what to make of it all.

About fifteen minutes in he got the hang of things and really started having a good time. He would kick back. He would splash. He would reach for his toys and whip them around on top of the water. He even tolerated his sunnies for a short while.

The family was smitten and we all enjoyed watching him start to maneuver around in the water for the first time. His little 2nd cousin was also there. This being her second trip to the pool she was quite the veteran and made sure Blake knew all the best techniques for splashing.

At on point we did shove the plastic keys down our own throat. That really made us mad. But that was really the only bout of crying. Otherwise he was quite content to swim, and swim, and swim.

And splash, and splash, and splash.

I see many more days just like this for the rest of summer. It sounds like bliss and I cannot wait to get back there soon. I think KB is pretty excited about it as well.
