Merry, Merry Christmas

This year, as expected, the Littleman was completely and utterly spoiled at Christmas. He was finally catching on to what presents mean and really loving all the fun and attention. No wonder he was so spoiled, with members of this family having only one grand kid to focus on this year. But then plans suddenly changed and our small family Christmas celebration was exchanged for something much better.

We had a bit of a surprise this year, with G.G's family coming down from Canada and Northern Utah to share the holiday with us. They arrived Christmas Eve and it was really fun to have so many people cluttered in the house. Grandpa's sister and niece and family was there to enjoy Christmas Eve as well. We even added a few more when we used Facetime with the remaining relatives in Canada. We sang a few carols, read a little of Luke 2, and all headed to bed for a long winter's nap. The cousins all headed to a hotel, the parents stayed at L'Hotel G.G., and our family came home so the youngest member of the family could get some sleep in his own bed.

Next morning we made the sleigh ride back to Grandma's house for stockings, presents and breakfast. It was a delight! There is something about Christmas that is improved when surrounded by family. I love it so much! Spencer had to work in the afternoon so we unwrapped presents fairly quickly, marveled and trilled about all our wonderful gifts, and watched as Blake scrambled around the house in pure bliss of new friends, new toys, and new adventures. He really brought the spirit of the season with him and the brightness of his eyes is something I hope to never forget.
