Spring Laundry List
1. Listen to the birds outside my window in the morning as they welcome the daylight. I too should be this happy to start another day. They chirp and sing and wake me up too early, but the sound is soo cheerful it is a waste to get mad about it. Just join in, like you were Cinderella or Snow White.
2. Seeds! Plant them. Water them. Watch them grow. Move them outside after the frost, whenever that is. This time find a shady place for cucumbers, because it was too hot for them last year.
3. Do some cleaning. Start downstairs and work your way up. Just getting one room a day semi clean is completely fine. Oh, and don't ignore that pair of dirty socks someone hid under the couch. Just pull them out and wash them already.
4. Don't get discouraged if cleaning doesn't happen the way you want. Just remember those chirping birds in #1 and remember there is always tomorrow.
5. Build a new work out playlist, one full of happy, sunny, springy songs. When you feel less icky you will want to start working out again, it is inevitable you will want new songs.
6. Watch the grass hopefully grow, even after you told your husband to chop it to the nubbins with his new "de-thatching blade." This one might take some time, but don't fret.
7. Never waste an opportunity to blow a pinwheel. Spring is all about pinwheels.
8. Play with the mutt. She is a good girl and deserves some attention, especially play outside. However, you will have to watch her. She won't dig if you are watching her, but if you ignore her for too long then you will probably be in for an overly excited episode of hole digging.
9. Put the laundry away, don't just leave it in the bins after the wash. That is just plain lazy and only means more ironing. If it all doesn't fit in the closet, which it won't, then you need to plan a trip to DI. Really, this is getting a bit out of hand, especially your shoes.
10. Don't be afraid to dance to your iPod while you mow the lawn. The neighbors will probably laugh, but they already know you're crazy, so it won't matter. Just jam it up because it makes you happy to be working outside.
